Color explosions

WHAT
An alternative way for adults to have fun, using paint, colors and a wall

WHO
FACILITATORS:
Maria Karakatsani, Eirini Sofianou, Evangellos Kapinias, staff members and facilitaros of the Second Chance School Assos - Lecheon
LEARNERS:
About 10 inhabitants of the wider area and friends of the students - men and women aged between 20 – 50 years.

WHY
To have fun while learning about mixing colors and the fact that art doesn’t necessarily have to have a specific form.  

HOW
The adult learners and the local people, aided by the facilitators, drew their figures on cardboard. Then, they put those shapes on the wall, which they had already
prepared as a color canvas. The participants threw various different colors on this canvas.  

VALUE FOR LEARNERS
All participants learned about different color combinations while having fun. They viewed this project as a pleasant diversion from everyday routine.

VALUE FOR FACILITATORS
Initially, we had to convince the participants that a specific artistic creation, as they perceived it at that given moment, was not a necessary outcome.
 We blended with the participants and we all had fun.
